From the Office of the Athletic Director:
Spring sports are right around the corner! It is amazing how fast the winter season goes. I am writing to invite you to our spring sports sign up night here at Monomoy Regional High School. This will take place on Monday March 14th at 5 PM in the gymnasium. Format for the evening will be a brief presentation about the athletic department, a brief presenation on concussions by our athletic trainer Taylor Murray, and breakout sessions with each coach regarding schedules, team rules and expectations, and collection of the pre participation head injury form.
There are a few things you can do to be prepared for the first day of spring sports (offerings are attached), which will be Monday March 21st.
1. Sign up on FAMILY ID by MARCH 17th: https://www.familyid.com/programs/high-school-spring-sports-2016-athletic-registration
2. Be sure your athlete has had a physical in the last 13 months (state law) You can also check to see the date of your son or daughter's last physical right on ASPEN. All physical paperwork should be turned in directly to the school nurse, Cheryl Dufault: cdufault@monomoy.edu
3. FIll out the attached pre-participation head injury form and bring it to your coach on spring sports sign up night.
4. Be sure your son or daughter has scheduled an IMPACT test with our athletic trainer, Taylor Muray: tmurray@monomoy.edu
*Side note: Winter sports awards night will be held on Monday March 28th at 630 PM in the auditorium: Refreshments will be served prior to the evening at 6 PM in the cafeteria. More details to come!
Thank you for your support throughout the first two seasons here at Monomoy Regional High School. I look forward to working with you all this spring.

Shark "Shout Outs" (SSO's) - MRHS's way of Appreciating the Great People here!
Shark Shout Outs are spreading fast & furious at MRHS. We start every staff meeting with Shout Outs to colleagues and Shout Out to students nominated for student of the month during am announcements. Now, students and Parents are welcome to send in a Shark Shout Out as a token of appreciating other students and staff in the school. Email Mr. Burkhead at bburkhead@monomoy.edu, or drop them off to Ms. Hooper in the main office! The enthusiasm is contagious!
A shark shout out to Ms. Deb Donovan, who spent countless hours working with Ms. Richard on the amazing Adamms Family production. Sadly, Ms. Donovan's son in law passed away recently in a tragic car accident in Liberia. Ms. Donovan is with her family at this time and she plans on returning to school March 31. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Donovan and her family and a shout out to let her know that her Monomoy family is thinking of her and miss her dearly- we are here for you Ms. Donovan!
Shark Shout out to grade 8 silver team students. Not a class goes by without at least one student thanking me for teaching them that day. Their courtesy, respect, and kindness is a model for all students and makes Monomoy the special place it is becoming. It is the small everyday actions of members of a community that create culture, and I appreciate that these students are creating a culture that is warm, appreciative, and welcoming to all.
Rachel Barnes
My wife and I saw the Addams family play last night. Kudos to your outstanding crews, students and staff who put that together! It was delightful! What a difference to sit and enjoy the wonderful productions in the new facility.
Congratulations
Larry Brookhart
A huge Shark Shout-Out to Junior Hannah Duran for helping her older brother pass the GED! She's been tutoring him in Math (a subject both she and her brother struggle with) and he just passed his exam, thanks to her!
Now he can finally start applying to college! Thank you, Hannah Duran!!!
Sincerely,
Laura Duran
Shout Out to the Art and Music Departments (Bernadette, Carol and Rose) have stepped up BIG TIME while Ms. Donovan has been away. They’ve been under a tremendous amount of stress with the added responsibility of the musical, guiding our substitute, as well as keeping up with their own work. And they have done it in the most graceful, seamless way. Kudos to three stellar Monomoy teachers!
Claire Hooper
Shark Shout out to Mr. Cataldo and our student Cody Doyle for fabricating 2 magnetic knife holders and a measuring cup rack. Mounted on the wall the racks help to keep things organized and safe in the Culinary kitchen classroom. Nice work and much appreciated!
Ms. Freitas
The Addams Family was Sensational!!!! The Music department and the students actors deserve a huge Shark Shout Out!! The house was 3/4 filled with families, students, alumni and the public, terrific!
Sharon Gleason
