The Coop Scoop
Week of May 22nd-26th
Hello Coopertown Families,
Choppy week but a fun one nonetheless!
5th Grade is having a great time visiting historic places and learning about our township's and city's history. They visited Nitre Hall and the City of Philadelphia this week. See pictures below!
5th Grade Parents- It is very important that you update your students enrollment so that they can be a student at our middle school next year. The information is right below this letter. If you have any questions, please reach out to our building secretary, Virginia Kelly at vakelly@haverfordsd.net
Student Council asked me to remind you that all this month we are collecting food and toys for pets that they will donate to a local shelter. If your child can carry it in- we'll take it! Thank you.
We listened to the talented Chorus and 5th grade Instrumentals today led by Dr. Sheridan, Dr. Shanefield and Mr. Basalik. Everyone sounded wonderful! Just one more concert to go for our 3rd graders on June 1st.
Important dates to know- May 29th is our next day off in recognition of Memorial Day.
The Elementary Track Meet is on Monday, May 22nd. 4th-5th grade track parents, please see the link for the sign up Genius below. We bus runners to the event, but you must pick them up at the High School Track between 5:30-6:00 when the event ends.
Field Day is being planned for June 6th! Look for a Sign Up Genius coming from your homeroom teacher soon to ask for volunteer help. It is going to be a sporty and extra fun day!

Important Action for 5th Elementary Enrollment of Students
In December 2022, School Board Policy #200 “Enrollment of Students” was updated. This update now requires the parents/guardians of all current fifth (5th) and eighth (8th) grade students, who plan to attend 6th and 9th grade in the district the following school year, to verify their residency and contact information before June 30th of the current school year.
Families can submit their verification documents through their PowerSchool parent account (PowerSchool Parent Accounts). Each student verification requires two (2) acceptable documents, as outlined in the policy, in their entirety with the address and name(s) clearly indicated. Examples of acceptable documents include:
Deed
Settlement Statement
Current Lease Agreement
Current Property Tax Bill
Current Utility Bill
Current Credit Card Bill
PennDOT Identification Card
Documentation submitted by families will be reviewed for authenticity and accuracy beginning in May and continuing through June. Once your child’s documents have been verified, confirmation will be communicated through your PowerSchool parent/guardian account. Failure to verify residency and contact information by June 30th may result in the initiation of a nonresident student removal proceeding in accordance with Board Policy 202.
