The Titanic was built 14 years after the book "The Titan" foreshadowing the future of the popular ship we all know about.Building the ship had some challenges and successes bringing it to another side of history. We now know that the tragedy of could have been prevented if only one knew how to respond to the warnings given.
When was the Titanic built?
The Titanic 's construction started March 9, 1909 ,but didn't start being built until May 31, 1911.It was built in Belfast, north Ireland.
who's idea was it?
The ship was designed by James Andrews (to the right), and was built by Harland and Wolff, ship builders for White Star Line.
what was it made of?
The Titanic 's mishap with the iceberg had to do with the fact that it was made of rivets.Rivets are lower-grade metals that were more brittle.
Different materials save lives.
More lives would have been saved if the vessel of the ship had been constructed with better materials other than rivets.
