Hi, I'm Josh

Who's got 2 thumbs and is excited for the school year? Me.

7th year as K-12 Instructional Technology Facilitator

You tweet? I tweet. Let's tweet! #plsd

My job is to help teachers use technology for instruction. Is there something I can help you with? Can I help you get something created or set up for students? Teach students how to use a piece of technology? Be an extra set of hands while students are using technology? Email me @ !

Your SMART Board is best utilized when students are manipulating the Board. Don't forget about the templates already built into the SMART Notebook Lesson Activity Toolkit and the SMART Exchange for pre-made lessons.

Apps for Students

Stuff I Used Today

Splashtop 2 Remote Desktop - iPad app that allows you to see and control your computer from your iPad (used for showing the SMART Notebook file)

Air Server - download for your computer, allows your iPad screen to be projected on your computer. Hook your computer up to the projector and you can walk around the room and present from your iPad.

Adonit Jot Pro - stylus to write on the iPad; there are a wide variety of others, in all shapes and sizes, but I wouldn't recommend spending less than $10 regular price.

There is a range of ways to use technology in the classroom.

Similar to Depth of Knowledge (DOK), it's best to hit all areas of technology integration levels. With Substitution and Augmentation, you're enhancing the learning experience. Once you get to the Modification and Redefinition stages, you begin to transform your instruction.
