Rise Against Hunger Event a Huge Success!
On Sunday, January 26th, The GD Volunteers participated in a meal packing event at Lawrence Academy to support “Rise Against Hunger”.
Students from the three area high schools (Lawrence Academy, Groton School and GDRHS) packaged 25,272 meals in two hours. During that time we also packaged the 100,000th meal of all time for LA and the Groton Community.
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributed food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable. These meals are now ready to be shipped to crisis areas in the United States and internationally.
The GD student who participated in this event are: Charlotte Lagasse, Jacob Morrill, Claire Schwartz, Delia Hughes,Tessa Masino, Zara Masino, Emiko Clark, Sharah Hudson, Julia Hudson, and Samrita Murthy.
We are planning to participate in this annual event again next year. Attached are some photos from the event.
