CONCESSIONS - WE NEED YOU
For anyone new to the band program, we have an arrangement with New Pal Athletics where we take turns splitting up the concession duties (and profits!) for each school year. It is our turn to staff the concessions stands for the winter sports.
We provide wrapped candy, bottled soda, pretzels, nachos, hot dogs and other odds and ends. These are simple shifts - but there are several shifts to fill.
Each shift worked earns $10 towards your student account!
** URGENT ** In addition to needing shift workers, we are also needing to find a leadership team to help lead the concessions. It's simply too much work for 1 or 2 persons, so we are looking for 6 leaders to share the load. (Did I mention there is a Student Account BONUS for these leaders?.. no?.. well there is)
What does it take to be a concessions leader? Not much!
Open the stand.. Handle the set up.. Explain how to make pretzels and other stuff.. Help clean up.. Close up. If you're able to help, we'd be happy to tell you more! Please reach out to the concessions coordinator, and we'll fill you in on the details.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA!
One of the many outreach/fundraisers the New Palestine Performing Arts does is the free breakfast with Santa event at the New Pal Lions Club. This year will be similar to years past. We'll have awesome breakfast foods, hot and fresh and ready to go.
We'll have some activities for the kiddos to stay occupied.
We'll have the High School Jazz Band playing for everyone
We'll have the Big Guy Himself! - Santa will be there for pictures!
The cost is FREE, but we'll have donation buckets if you feel so inclined to toss the program a few bucks. :)
When: December 11th from 8am - 12pm
Where: New Palestine Lions Club
We're looking forward to seeing everyone there!
SANTA NEEDS HELPERS
Show us your pancake flipping muscles, or your skills of deep frying hash browns! Don't cook? There's set up and clean up that needs help too. It's a short day, but there are several roles that we need filled to pull this event off.
It's a fun time, and the community really appreciates this event. Holy cow, we make LOTS of pancakes. :)
If you can, we'd love your help!

NEW ORDER FORM - Laundry, dishsoap, and trashbags
Have you SEEN it???
Take a look!
Laundry/dish soap/trash bag order form
I mean.. it's not super fancy.. there's no laser cats or laser sharks.. BUT it should make it really easy to place your detergent and trash bag order going forward. It's also got the prices on it (but you already know that because you clicked the link, right?).....
You didn't click the link? Do you wash your clothes in the creek out back, or something? Dishes too? I don't want to know what you put your trash in, if it's not trash bags.
How about this... NEW YEARS RESOLUTION... Give the D5 Fundraiser a try.
You can use the link in the Dragon Blast.. or on our FACEBOOK page.. or on the fundraiser page of our WEBSITE.

MEET JUSTIN !!

Justin Madren is the New Palestine Percussion Director for both the Jr. High and High School. He attended Ivy Tech Community College, and also Indiana State University. Justin joined the New Pal program in the fall of 2021.
He has many things to offer with this experience in the marching activity and teaching. Prior to landing at New Pal, he taught at Vincennes Lincoln H.S. and Greenfield Central H.S. Justin has experience marching in WGI with Legacy Indoor Percussion and Veritas Indoor Percussion.
As the Percussion Director, Justin plans to grow the program with confidence, and to make the atmosphere as enjoyable as possible. He wants the kids to want and desire to be in the program because they have a love for it. He hopes to push his percussion section to a world class competition level in the future. On the side of teaching percussion, Justin is an audio engineer and a music producer for many artists around the world!
Good luck, Justin!!! We're excited to have you on our team!!!!

MARCHING DRAGONS PLACE 9TH AT STATE!

It was a fantastic ending to a fantastic season. "Riddle Me This" marked the end and the beginning of many things. Crossing the threshold of being invited to State has been in the back of everyone's mind, but was never a certainty. Achieving this accomplishment for the first time in over a decade will certainly be a highlight for many of our marchers, Freshman through Seniors.
Congratulations to everyone associated with this fantastic program. It takes the efforts of everyone to make these things possible - students and families - THANK YOU!!!
