Dec. 9 - 10 : Alg. 1 SOL Testing
Testing days will be Wednesday (12/9) and Thursday (12/10), with approximately 60 students testing each day. Sent via email are student testing lists. The lists are sorted by Block 1 teacher so that it is easy to identify if you need to send students in the morning. Just look for your name and which students to send. If your name is not on the list, you are off the hook for that morning.
If you do have any students in your first block, send them to the cafeteria at 8:50.
Please make sure to check the lists for students that might be in your later blocks. The Alg I SOL usually takes students three to four hours on average, so students will miss multiple classes. Students will return to class when finished with a pass from testing.
Dec. 7-11: Minnie Howard Book Fair
9:00 a.m. - 4:00p.m. We will have exciting activities and programs in the library:

Scholastic is paying for an author to visit our school during book fair week. "New York Times" Best Selling
author April Henry will provide a presentation on Friday, Dec. 11 from 10:15 - 11:15 a.m. which will include a book signing afterwards. We will also have an author's chat in the library during A-lunch for students interested in the writing process or becoming authors. We have several of her books available in the library to check out or students can purchase a book and have it autographed. (See email attachments)
Please let me know if your class would like to participate in the author presentation or you have students who want to bring their lunch to the library and chat with author.
Thanks! See ya at the book fair :*)
