Viking Vibes
Engage. Educate. Empower.
Volume 1 ~ Issue 2 ~ Week of July 24, 2022
Message from the Principal
As we kick off week 2 of the school year, I wanted to express the joy I had last week meeting our Viking students! Both 7th and 8th grade students showed a range of emotions from excitement to nervousness and everything in between. Our newest Vikings were getting acclimated to the new environment and meeting new friends, while our veteran Vikings reconnected with old friends and revisited their hangout spots. I am thrilled by the kindness of many of the students I met and look forward to meeting more of them in the days to come!
Just a friendly reminder for parents to please sign the important forms that went home with your child on Wednesday, and have your child return them to their Advisory teacher as soon as possible. Starting Monday, we will start implementing Tardy Sweeps for any students who are late to class. It is imperative that students get to class on time before the bell rings to ensure they are present and ready to engage in learning. Looking ahead, this Friday during PE classes, the admin team will review the school policies and procedures so that all students know and understand the Viking way. I encourage parents and students to read every email that is sent out as it contains important information and can answer many of the questions you may have.
Wishing you a great week, Vikings!
Take care,
Ms. Scott
Assistant Principal - Mrs. Monica Raczkowski
I am very excited to be starting my 20th year in the Sweetwater district as a Viking. As an assistant principal, I believe in addressing issues in a restorative way. I care about our students and am kind, but firm in how I work with them to make good choices. I have been married for 16 years, and am a proud dog mom to a border collie named Beau. I love being an aunt to my 8 nephews, and personal hairstylist to my parents. When I am not working, I love traveling, hiking, camping, playing the piano and singing. I am thrilled to be on the MVA team and look forward to a great year ahead! Gooooo Vikings!!!

Please open this link below to review important information about school policies going into effect this week.

These policies will also be reviewed with students during AP Presentations this Friday.
Free Universal Lunch
As with the last two years, all students will be able to participate in the free universal program offered in California. This means that your children will be able to eat one (1) free breakfast and lunch every day. Although meals are free, we ask that you still complete this form HERE as it helps to provide the school with additional funding. Copies of this form went home with your child on the first day of school. Please be sure to fill it out and have your child return it to their advisory teacher.
ASB Gear Sales
Did you pick up your FREE SPIRIT SHIRT yet?? If not, make sure to go to the ASB during lunch to pick one up!
