Phishing
ICT exam preparation
It just like reaching through the screen and grabing your wallet straight out of your pocket.
What is Phishing ?
Phishing is when someone sends you an email, normally someone pretending to be a financial person. Then you type in all of your details on the email, thinking your going to get something out of it. So your credit card details and your personal information. But once they have got hold of it then they can use it, withot you realising what you have done.
Ways to prevent yourself against Phishing
*Do not click on links, download files or open attachments in emails from unknown senders.
*Never enter personal information in a pop-up screen.
*Protect your computer with a firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
*Check your online accounts and bank statements regularly.
*Never email personal or financial information, even if you are close with the recipient
