The Palace of Versailles

The Fame

The Palace of Versailles is famous because it was the palace for King Louis XIV and King Louis XVI. King Louis XIV built the main part of the palace for government and court to be moved there. Versailles remained the same until 1789. Then a mad group of revolutionaries (mostly women) came to the palace and wanted King Louis XVI out. They evicted him. Because it was Napoleon's favorite, The Palace of Versailles remains one of the most famous.
