Returning to School: Your Thoughts and Feelings
Our Patriot Ambassadors recorded this video to guide our students through an activity our counselors have planned for all our students to complete in the coming weeks!
Please support their efforts with a $2.00 donation to wear jeans this Wednesday, November 10th.
Secaucus Rotary's involvement in polio eradication began in 1979 with a five-year commitment to provide and help deliver polio vaccine to six million children of the Philippines. Following similar commitments in other countries, in the early '80s Rotary started planning for the most ambitious program in its history — to immunize all of the world's children against polio, and in 1985 PolioPlus was born. Since then, Rotary’s dedication to the global eradication of polio has remained constant. 2021 marked the 36th anniversary of PolioPlus and more than three decades of progress and challenges the program has faced. But through the efforts of Rotary, over 99 percent of the world’s population lives in regions certified polio-free.
Please be sure that your student has extra masks in their backpack each day. This way if something happens to their mask they have a backup so their learning is not disrupted when needing to get a replacement.
This year the middle school is using McGraw-Hill Education’s new mathematics curriculum called Reveal Math. Please be sure to view the
family letter and log in with your child the view the digital textbook and resources using this
website. The digital book includes resources such as videos, animations, personal tutors, and much more!
Student members of our National Junior Honor Society are serving as peer tutors as part of their volunteer requirement. If your student is struggling and would benefit from the support of a NJHS tutor, please reach out to their guidance counselor and/or case manager directly to facilitate the process.
On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, we will have a dress-down day to support the National Junior Honor Society. If students would like to participate, they can wear a flannel top and jeans for a $2.00 donation.
We hope you all enjoyed the break! This will be the first of our monthly newsletters. Please see November's calendar of events and club meetings below.
As the temperatures begin to drop, we will be making every effort to have our students go outside for a portion of their lunch periods. That said, here are some guidelines that we follow when making our decision about students going outside. Please make sure to provide your children with appropriate clothing for cold weather.
Students will remain indoors during the following weather conditions:
● Snow, Rain, Hail, Sleet
● Thunder/Lightning
● Temperature and/or Windchill Temperature 32 degrees or colder
Thank you as always for your support!
