BEHS Preschool
Activity Agenda
Insect Lesson
In this lesson that your child will be participating in, they will be learning about insects. In math, we intend on making ants on a log so the students can count out the raisins and other measurements. If there are any food allergies, please warn us ahead of time. (Peanut butter, celery and raisins will be used) For science, we would like to get your permission to go out on a nature hunt for the children to see different insects in our area. We also want to buy some caterpillars to watch them grow and hatch into butterflies. Social studies will consist of the places in which certain insects live. For literature work we will be reading The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle and the children will be acting it out in order to get them more engaged. We hope that your child will learn a lot and enjoy this lesson.
