Edmond Doyle News

It's so hard to believe that the first month of 2019 is over! Time really has a way of going by quickly...this is why it is so important to enjoy our children while they are young. As the mother of a 36 and 27 year old I can assure you they grow up in the blink of an eye. As the grandmother of soon to be 8 small grandchildren, time continues to speed up as I watch them grow. Small children are adorable and funny, but they are also hard work and sometimes downright difficult to deal with in certain situations. Just step back, take a deep breath, and relax...spend far more time enjoying them than anything else and watch them grow into amazing people. They are worth every second of time it takes to raise them.

The flu and some type of stomach virus has reared its ugly head. Make sure to have your child get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, and wash their hands frequently to avoid getting germs that can make them sick. We are keeping everything clean here...you are encouraged to send Chlorox wipes to your child's class. We go through a lot of them!

Be sure and watch the weather to make sure your child is dressed properly for the day. The weather fluctuates so much that each day is different. We have coats and hoodies on the lost and found table. When you come for Parent/Teacher Conferences, be sure and check to see if anything belongs to you!

We are really proud of our students that are going to participate in Circle the State with Song. They worked really hard to learn 8 songs for their concert in Poteau. We always have students that enjoy participating. Mrs. Braswell is so wonderful..we are so thankful to have her as an influence for our students! As a matter of fact..all of our teachers and staff are wonderful. I hope everyone realizes how fortunate our students are to have Edmond Doyle teachers and staff with them daily. Every adult at this school is a positive role model that invests love, time, talents, and examples of how a person should be into the lives of every child here. Our students are blessed!

Parent/Teacher Conferences are on Thursday, February 7th from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We need 100% participation. Every child should have someone checking on their progress. If you cannot make it on these times, call your teacher and make arrangements for a time that would be better. They will work with you--they want to talk to you about your child and their progress. We work hard at Edmond Doyle and we want to share your child's successes with you. If there is a problem, we want to help you solve it! Your children are very important to us...we love sharing them with you!
