Student Scoop
IN THE SPOTLIGHT!
Every week, I hope to spotlight a different student who has stood out in his or her classes or the community. This week, I'm recognizing Kennedy G., an 8th grader at SSS. Mrs. Snodgrass, his writing teacher, submitted his name. She said, "Kennedy is an ideal student who works hard in everything he does. He gives his best daily in all aspects of school. He is a wonderful role model to other students." I couldn't agree more! Kennedy is a delight to have in class and on the academic team.
- What have you read lately that you just really loved (or maybe that you hated!!!)? Click the book review link to see some examples and then type up your own.
- Maybe you are more of a photographer, artist, or poet? I'd love to publish your work, too.
- Short stories or essays? Bring them to me!!!
Nominate a teacher who does a great job meeting the needs of gifted kids in his/her classroom. They will get a small token of our appreciation and we'll share your kind words in an upcoming newsletter. (Parents can nominate, too!)

Teacher Talk
Mrs. Lisha Rexroat, 7th grade math teacher, was nominated by several students this week to receive a shout out for her outstanding effort in going above and beyond in the classroom. One student said, "Mrs. Rexroat is an awesome teacher because she knows where each kid is academically, and is willing to work with them to make them better. Mrs. Rexroat goes above and beyond to meet the needs of gifted children by keeping the gifted kids challenged and always working, while also meeting the needs of the other kids. Mrs. Rexroat is one of the best teachers, no doubt about it." Thanks to Mrs. Rexroat for doing what it takes! Look for a surprise in your mailbox this week!
ABOUT TEACHING GIFTED STUDENTS
