We collected over 2,000 cans and non-perishable food items! #PowerofCommunity

Over the past two weeks, we have been collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items as a school community to support Catholic Charities Friends Feeding Families Food Drive. The folks from Catholic Charities had tears in their eyes and were speechless. They said the food pantry had been almost all cleaned out and this would help to restock these much needed items during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Congratuations to Ms. Jones and her 3B scholars! They collected 392 items and will have a pizza party hosted by Catholic Charities before Christmas break. Great job to K2B who was a close second place with almost 350 items! As a Catholic School, we are blessed to be able to empower our students as leaders and embrace stewardship and giving back to others.

Grade 3B shares what they are thankful for at our Prayer Service this past Wednesday!

#GivingTuesday is tomorrow! Please share this link on Facebook!

Congrats to these Lower Mills #LEADERS!

Kudos to Matthew, Karan and Niyah in grade 3 as well as Sofia in grade 4 and Elijah (not pictured) in grade 5. These five scholars were selected to represent the Lower Mills Campus at the Dick's Sporting Goods $100 for 100 event. Students were selected based on their contribution to their classroom community as a Peacemaker, exemplar growth mindset and modeling Living the Gospel to others. Make sure to give them a high five when you see them at school!

Advent Season begins next Sunday, December 3rd

Our school community will be joined together in our faith, this Sunday, December 3rd at the 10am Mass before WinterFest. The Advent season includes the four Sundays in December (12.3, 12.10, 12.17 & 12.24) as well as weekdays leading up to the celebration of Christmas. All classrooms will have an advent wreath proudly displayed. The four candles inside the wreath reprint the four weeks of Advent. Three of the candles are purple and one is rose colored. The purple candles symbolize the prayer, penance and preparatory sacrifices. The rose candle is lit on the third Sunday, Gaudete Sunday, a time for rejoicing at the half-way point to Christmas. We light one candle each week to share the expectation and hope surrounding our Lord's first coming into the world and the anticipation of his second coming.
