Snohomish Health District – When you can return to school after testing positive for COVID-19
Snohomish Health District has some important reminders for our students and families, in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The most important thing is to stay home if you are ill.
If you test positive for COVID-19, you must inform your school and follow the guidance below from Snohomish Health District:
If you choose to test and your test is negative on day 5, you are able to return to school on day 6 without a mask.
If you choose to test and your test is positive on or after day 5 of symptoms (even if day 5 is your first positive test), you are considered infectious and will need to isolate for the full 10 days.
If you choose not to test on day 5, you must wear a well-fitting mask or face shield with a drape during days 6-10 of the isolation period.
If you choose not to test nor wear a mask on days 6-10, you must isolate at home for the full 10 days and then return on day 11.

Food and Nutrition Services update: A change in meal pricing next year
The most frequently asked question for our Food and Nutrition Services group is, “Will meals remain free next school year?”
Unfortunately, we do not have funding to extend free meals for all students next school year as Federal USDA Waivers that provided free breakfast and lunch to all students during the pandemic will expire on June 30, 2022.
This means students that do not qualify for free or reduced meals will need to pay for school breakfast and lunch beginning in September.
In 2021, the Washington State Legislature removed the fee for reduced-price lunches, so families who qualify for this program will no longer be charged for meals.
Students participating in breakfast in the classroom at Woodway Center, Chase Lake, Cedar Valley, and College Place Elementary can receive free breakfast as part of the school day in the 22-23 school year.
How to prepare for the 2022-23 school year
Each school year families who think they will qualify for FREE meals need to complete a new free/reduced meal application.
There is no fee to make payments online and you can add money to your student's account anytime. Money in your account now rolls over into the next school year as long as your student stays in the Edmonds School District.
If you have money on your student account that you would like to transfer to a sibling, need to request a refund, or want to donate please contact Dee Moran in the Food and Nutrition office: morand@edmonds.wednet.edu
