Google Drawings

Teachers or students can use Google Drawings to make interactive graphic organizers, such as Venn diagrams, timelines, cause and effect chains, flowcharts, and so much more.

Check out this link by the Author of "Ditch That TextBook", Matt Miller. Matt offers a FREE ebook, "101 Practical ways to Ditch That Textbook". Just go to the link above, provide your email address in the appropriate box, and the guide will be emailed to you. This guide shows 15 different FREE graphic organizers that he has created for you to customize as you choose using Google Drawings. Matt will be at iPadpaloozaEastTX this summer at Pine Tree High School thanks to our Digital Learning friends at Region VII. Click here to check out dates, times, and registration information for iPadpaloozaEastTX. You do not have to have an iPad to attend this event. Others devices are welcome!

Message from the Director

Just a reminder that this year I am covering a different Google App each month. If you have missed any issue, click here to access the archived Tech Bytes on our CISD Technology webpage. Google Apps are great tools for integrating technology in the classroom. It gives students a chance to collaborate digitally as well as opportunities to work at school, home, or anywhere they have internet access.

I have talked before about starting up a Tech Academy. I have had several interested but I know time is our number one problem. I am considering offering workshops in the summer in our training room at the Technology building. Please let me know if you are interested in this hands-on opportunity. I will put together some content ideas in the near future and also put together a schedule to see if this would be helpful to you.

Be sure to let me know if you have any questions related to technology for your classroom. We are here to help you!

Have a great February!
