The Elsik High School football program was presented the Class 6A Sportsmanship Award at the Houston Touchdown Club’s High School Sportsmanship Luncheon.

This award is based upon evaluations and comments from high school officials. Elsik was a finalist last year and won top honors this year.

Congratulations to the MVP Award recipients for the month of January.

This month's winners were selected for exemplifying the character trait of Responsibility.


Students, parents, staff and community members may nominate an Alief ISD employee for the Monthly MVP Award.


To nominate an employee for exemplifying the character trait of Resilience for the February MVP Awards, please submit the nomination form at www.aliefisd.net/mvp by Noon on February 12.

Reminders:

  • The Safety and Climate Surveys are live for district students and parents as well as campus-based employees. Parents can take the survey by visiting www.aliefisd.net/survey. Campus staff members received a survey link via email, and students will be taking the survey at the school.
  • The 2020-2021 applications are online for the high schools of choice, Dual Language Program and Mandarin Immersion Program. The high schools of choice priority acceptance application deadline is February 28 at 5:00 p.m. Space is limited.

How effective, unique partnerships are meeting critical student needs

Alief ISD is a strong supporter of meaningful relationships with community partners. Superintendent HD Chambers sat down to discuss the different partnerships with Pastor Parris Patrick (Agape Bible Church and Alief Coalition for the Homeless) and Alief ISD's Dee Jones (Business and Community Partnership Coordinator) and Demetria West (Hastings Ninth Grade Center counselor).
