Introducing Mr. Silvestri
Mr. Michael Silvestri is the new Principal at Woodland Middle School. Mr. Silvestri earned his Masters in School Leadership at Wilmington University in 2007 and a Bachelor of Science in History and Education from the University of South Carolina in 1998. He taught High School History in South Jersey for 9 years before making the move to School Administration. Mr. Silvestri’s administrative experience includes serving as Assistant Principal at Penns Grove High School (Carneys Point, NJ), Roland Rogers Elementary School (Galloway, NJ) and Galloway Township Middle School (Galloway, NJ). In addition to teaching and School Administration, Mr. Silvestri has pursued his love of sports through coaching both middle school and high school teams, including soccer, baseball, golf and his favorite, basketball (go Tarheels!!).
Growing up in a military family, Mr. Silvestri had the opportunity to live in many different places as a child, from Mississippi to Guam to Staten Island, NY. The experience of moving every 3 years required Mr. Silvestri to attend many new schools. Moving frequently allowed him and his 3 younger siblings to constantly meet new people and become part of new communities. As an adult, he has happily settled into living in South Jersey! Mr. Silvestri and his wife Amy live in Haddon Heights with their 3 boys, ages 8, 6 and 3. They are thrilled to live so close to Woodland School and become part of the Barrington community.
Thank You APT/WPTG
Welcoming Woodland Middle School's New Staff!
Ms. Nichole Dimitri
In 1999, I graduated with honors from Holy Family University with a dual certification in Elementary Education and Special Education. After graduation, I began teaching Special Education for sixth grade. Within the past sixteen years I have taught grades 4,5, and 7. However, the bulk of my time has been spent teaching 6th grade. I have two beautiful children of my own, ages four and six. My girls, Gianna and Sophia, are the light of my life. Some of my hobbies include spending time with my children. baking, gardening, reading, fishing, and shooting pool. I am very happy to be teaching in the Barrington School District. This year I have the pleasure of teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts and Math. I am looking forward to having a productive year in new surroundings, meeting the students, as well as working with the staff.
Ms. Madeline Gralish
My name is Madeline Gralish, and I am the new 8th Grade ICS teacher. You'll probably see me traveling from room to room with the eighth graders. Like Ms. Greenwald, I am a graduate of Rutgers University-Camden and am certified in Elementary and Special Education. I live in Haddonfield with my family, including my 4-year-old son, Henry. One interesting fact about me is that I started playing the violin when I was five years old. I still play violin today and teach violin lessons to kids and adults of all ages. I like baking, drawing, and reading. I am so excited to become a part of the Woodland family and can't wait to get to know you all.
Ms. Francesca Greenwald
My name is Ms. Greenwald, and I am the new 5th Grade Inclusion teacher with Mr. Doty. I graduated from Rutgers University-Camden in January of this year with my BA in English and Teacher of English and Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certifications. I am from Cherry Hill, NJ. I love Disney and dogs! I am looking forward to meeting everyone, and having a great first year here at Woodland.

Arrival & Dismissal
This is a friendly reminder all students should report to school after 8:20am. Supervision will be provided after 8:20am on the black top behind Woodland Middle School. The school day will begin at 8:30am.
The school day will end at 3:05pm. All students will be dismissed through the front door of the building.
Early Sign Out:
Please make sure when signing your child out early from the school day proper photo ID is required to ensure the safety of your child.
All students are permitted to attend school after morning doctor appointments. Please make sure you have a note present at arrival. If possible please try to schedule appointments as late as possible during the school day.
Computer Class (Headphones)
I am recommending that you please provide a set of headphones for your child to use at school, during their computer class. Some classrooms may provide them, however, your child may prefer a different kind that they are more comfortable with.
Kindergarten through eighth grade students visit the computer lab once every week. While in the computer lab, students use headphones for various projects that involve sound. The headphones help students to stay focused on their own work instead of concentrating on the distracting sounds around them.
You may choose to provide a new set of headphones for your child or a used set. Last school year, your child may have chosen to bring his/her own headphones to use in the computer lab. In an effort to help you conserve money and supplies, I recommend that your child bring back that set of headphones to use again this year. If you no longer have that pair, you can purchase a cheaper pair at Target, Walmart, or even the dollar store. Each child can choose to bring ear buds or headphones. They can stay in my classroom in bags that I will provide for them, in their desks or, for grades 5-8, in their lockers if they so choose.
These headphones will be returned to you at the end of the school year permitting they are still in working condition.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Woodland Warrior Soccer
