Principal's Message - Arrival and Dismissal Going Forward

Dear Falcon Families,

As we look towards our full-time return, I want to reiterate arrival and dismissal procedures. Next week we will be working with four busses and many more cars bringing students. I want to stress the importance of everyone being patient and waiting their turn to drop-off or pick-up students. Always drive slowly in our parking lot for the safety of others.

If you have a bus rider, please make sure you review the new bus routes and remind kids of their route color and specific bus stop. It is a good idea to have students out at the stop at least five minutes before pick-up time. All TK and Kindergarten parents must meet their child at the bus stop in the afternoon. If there is no adult there to meet these riders, they will be brought back to school. For the first week, understand that the route times might be a bit off as drivers adjust to the new runs and riders.

ARRIVAL BY CAR - 8:00 AM -8:15 AM

Students may not be dropped off before our team comes out to the front of the school to greet cars. Beginning next week, we will have more people out in front unloading the cars so we hope this goes more smoothly. When dropping off, please wait in the far right lane until the next staff member gives the go ahead to unload your student. If you are not waved to come forward by a staff member, do not pass the cars that are waiting in line to drive directly to the front of the school to unload your own child. I know there is some confusion with this as we ask that our Kindergarten parents and upper grade parents to come here after school. Again, in the morning wait patiently in the the right lane and yield to our busses so that we can get them over to Sierra Ridge in time.

I understand that some kids need extra time to get out of the car and some parents prefer to unload their own children. In this case, you may park in the lot, unload your child, and walk them across the crosswalk at the front of the school by the flagpole. At no time, shall a student walk through our parking lot without an adult.

The most important thing is to make sure all four of our busses are parked in front of the school before filling the second lane. Do not park along the red curbs nearest the parking lot aisles. If you are picking up your child, I encourage you to time your arrival to 2:35, so that we can get the busses loaded and headed to the middle school in a timely manner. We ask that parents stay in their car and pick-up curbside as directed.

We will continue the same pick-up process that we currently have in place. Teachers will bring students to the cars. Students in 1st and 2nd grade along with their older siblings will be waiting near the playground area. Kindergarteners and their older siblings will be waiting near the flag pole. Finally, 3rd and 4th graders will come out by the kitchen and gym area as soon as the busses exit Some parents have attached a sign with their child's name on the passenger visor and we have found this is very helpful in getting student's to their cars quickly.

If at any time you need to change your child's pick-up plan, please call the school well before dismissal time so that we can communicate a change in plans with their teacher.

In all, I am looking forward to getting back to our full-time schedule. Thank you for your support in getting our kids to and from school safely.

Changes in Bus Transportation for Reopening

Upon reopening, we will expand to four bus routes. Currently, there is very limited space left on the busses. Please contact the school office if you are interested in starting bus transportation for your child. We can find out if there is room on your desired route and provide you a transportation application.

Please know that our drivers regularly sanitize busses, seat students by grade level and family, and require masks or face coverings to be worn on the bus at all times. It your child rides the bus please make sure they have mask on as they board the bus.
