Mammograms
Who's getting the exams?- Both men and women can get a mammogram exam.
Starting age of the exam- You should start the exam around the age of 40. It doesn't have many benefits if they are taken any earlier.
How often should they get the exam?- You should get an exam every two years.
Pap Smears
Who's getting the exams?- Teen girls do not need to get Pap smears unless their doctors think that something is wrong. The exams are only for women.
Starting age of the exam- Once a girl turns 21, she should start getting regular pap smears to monitor her health.
How often should they get the exam?- Women in their 20's with normal Pap smear results should have the test every 3 years.
Testicular Exams
Who's getting the exams?- Testicular exams are for males only.
Starting age of the exam- You can do a testicular exam yourself starting at any age. Preferably around the time you are old enough to do this yourself, and have become a teenager.
How often should they get the exam?- It is important you try to do a TSE every month, to keep updated and stay on top of your health.
Prostate Exams
Who's getting the exams?- Only men get these exams.
Starting age of the exam- Organizations recommend to start taking the test at the age of 40 and the max at 70.
How often should they get the exam?- You should get a prostate exam every four years.
