Circulation policy
Students may check out 2 books for 2 weeks. Books may be renewed, but must be presented to the library for renewal. Overdue notices are sent once a month.
Library hours
Monday, Thursday, Friday - 7:40-3:00
Tuesday and Wednesday (starting Oct 6) - 7:40-5:15
Extended library hours
Starting October 6th the library will be open until 5:15 pm every Tuesday and Wednesday. Students wishing to stay must have a signed permission slip and have a way home at 5:15. Students may ride the activity bus. Students staying after must be productive in the library.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at Rippon Middle school starting Thursday, September 17th. Students will be coming in with their classes. Parents are welcome to shop the book fair at Back To School Night.
Virginia Readers' Choice reading promotion
Students who read a VRC book and fill out a form will be entered in a drawing for prizes each month.
Students who read 4 or more will be eligible to attend the voting party in the spring.
What the library does
Teaches lessons, collaborates with teachers, help with technology integration, gather resources for classes, give book talks, hosts book clubs, and more.
Library lunch bunch
The last Thursday of each month the library will host a lunch bunch for students. Students will sign up in the library a week prior and get a pass to come to the library at lunch. The group will be limited to the first 20 students who sign up. Students attending will play games and participate in a variety of activities.
Library flex passes
Each teacher has 2 flex passes. With teacher permission, students may come to the library with a flex pass. One student per flex pass.
