La misión de Pasco High School es crear un ambiente de colaboración que fomente el aprendizaje, el respeto mutuo y una fuerte ética de trabajo, ayudando así a desarrollar futuros ciudadanos para los desafíos que se avecinan.
Change of Learning Option for Semester 2 Survey
Pasco High School is starting to prepare for the second semester that begins on January 6, 2021. In order to properly allocate teachers and resources, we are requiring families to notify the school by November 13 if they want to change their student's educational option (traditional to MSOL or MSOL to traditional). Only fill out this survey if you are changing your student's option for the 2nd semester. Action does not need to be taken if they will remain in their current learning option. Requests received after November 13 will be placed on a wait list and may be changed if space is available. The school may not be able to process a request to change the option selected in this survey after it has been submitted. Only parents/guardians are allowed to complete this form. Student requests will not be processed. One form should be submitted for each student in the household that attends PHS. Submitting this survey will result in the student's schedule being adjusted. This includes potential changes to their teachers and/or courses from first semester. Families that are requesting to be changed to mySchool Online must have internet access and a device for their student. PHS no longer has loaner devices for students. Families considering online enrollment with Pasco eSchool should visit the Pasco eSchool website to register.
Here is an explanation of the two models:
Traditional : This model represents taking classes on the school campus in a classroom where students will interact directly with their teacher(s) and classmates. Class sizes may not vary from previous school years. The school day will follow the standard bell times and a standard schedule that includes all the core classes and other subject areas. Students must comply with current safety expectations that are communicated by Pasco Schools.
mySchool Online: This model is designed for families who would like to maintain their connection to PHS, but don’t yet feel comfortable sending their student(s) back to the campus. Students will attend school remotely, following the standard bell schedule and times. Daily interactions are required.

Educational Travel!!!

Ms. Martinez!!!
Who better to shout out this week of Hispanic heritage week other than Mrs. Martinez (we were not bribed by her incredible cooking! Although it definitely made lunch enjoyable).
Mrs. Martinez started teaching English and theater at PHS last year and she has already become a staple on our campus. Mrs. Martinez has been a huge addition for our ESOL students and continues to advocate and push for their success. Additionally, she was a key member in honoring our students of Hispanic heritage and creating a culture of unity and bridging the gap between our Hispanic and non-Hispanic community.
Mrs. Martinez is one of the most caring and welcoming staff members on our campus. She is always there for her students to make sure they feel comfortable in her classroom. Going above and beyond to create exciting and engaging activities is one Mrs. Martinez's key characteristics. When asking a student about Mrs. Martinez, the student states "We were working on black out poems last week and I have never been interested in the meaning behind songs until listening to Mrs. Martinez teach me about the break down and the art behind it."
Mrs. Martinez, you truly are an important member in our community, and on this campus and the student services team wants to THANK YOU for everything you do for our students.
Have you caught someone doing a great job and want to let everyone know about it? This is the place to go and send a SHOUT OUT to the staff member who has made a difference this week.

Feeding Tampa Bay
My name is Kate, and I'm from Feeding Tampa Bay.
Feeding Tampa Bay, part of the national Feeding America network, focuses on providing food to the hundreds of thousands of food insecure families in the 10-county area of West Central Florida. I wanted to share with you a volunteer opportunity for students looking to complete volunteer service hours for future scholarships. I noticed that you are the main contact for the PTSA and thought that your members may be interested in this service opportunity.
Every Thursday afternoon from 3-6:30pm is our weekly Pasco Mega Pantry, and we are in great need of volunteers! This event takes place right across from PHS at Burks Memorial Park.
It would be amazing if you were able to share this information with your students looking for volunteer opportunities! I have attached a graphic below with information on the pantry.
Sign up happens here on our website or if you'd like to sign up a group, send me an email and I'll get you registered!
If you have any questions at all or are interested in partnering on future events please don't hesitate to reach me at kscaglione@feedingamericatampabay.org.
I hope to hear from you soon!
