Rotation V.S Revolution
In space there's planets; what do the planets do in space.
Planets
You might think planets just float around and hang out... Well your wrong, planets do a lot more. In space all planets orbit or revolve around the Sun. That's not the only thing they do, however, they have an axis. An axis is an imaginary line that goes from the North Hemisphere to the South Hemisphere. With the axis the planet goes around it self. This is called rotation.
Revolution
First of all what does revolution mean? Well revolution means to revolve or go around someone or something. For example all the planets in our solar system revolve around the Sun, our star. One revolution takes 365.24 days.
Rotate
Your probably saying "what does rotate mean?". So you learned what an axis is. When you rotate you have to use your axis. An axis is an imaginary line that goes from the North Pole to the South Pole. Then lets say you are a planet, you would spin around in place. Rotation forms day and night. One rotation is 23.93 days.
The Earth
Did you know Earth is the only proven planet to have an atmosphere that can hold and support human existence.
The Moon
The natural satellite of Earth, usually visible at night, however, if it's a New Moon it is not visible.
The Sun
The sun is our star that's not too close yet not too far from Earth. If it were to be too close we would burn to death, however, if it was too far from Earth we would freeze.
