What's Up in the Tech World
Happy Valentine's Week and a Warning!
Hi all,
I hope you have a wonderful week. I have to warn you that I attended EdCamp Madison yesterday and I heard about some great new technology products. I think I have two or three pages of notes. Mrs. Blocker is very worried :) So, if you see me and I start talking too fast about technology just tell me to take a breath. I will try to pace myself and slowly share new thoughts with you over the next several weeks.
I will be with Lower campus on the usual Monday and Thursday and Upper on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
All teachers - I have started our 30 day trial of BrainPop. We have access to everything they have. The login information is :
username: wcahsv
password: wildcat1
PLEASE take a minute to try this out. I know some of you use the free items. I think you will find there is a great deal more that you can do with the paid version. If you find it helpful, let me know. Remember I am here to lobby for the resources you need and want. I really believe this will be valuable to teachers Pre-K through at least 9th grade.
I ran across a great graphic about today's students. I also did research on 21st Century classrooms this week for one of my graduate classes so I included the link to a great website that highlights characteristics of the 21st Century student.
Lower school teachers - you MUST check out GoNoodle listed below. You can set up a free account. When you get there make sure you view the Pop Se Ko video. This site is great for the cold, rainy days of winter. It is full of indoor recess and Brain Break videos. I wish I had filmed a room full of adults doing the Pop Se Ko on Saturday :)
I am going to restrain myself and save the rest of my information for the upcoming weeks. Please let me know how I can help you!
