Family House Volunteers
On Saturday, November 2nd, some of the 7th grade students visited Family House, a residence for families with children dealing with long-term illness and the beneficiary of our First Quarter Mission Collection. Family House provides physical and emotional support free of financial concern. Our students played games such as twister, corn hole, and chess with them as well as providing a craft project. Although the weeks are pretty structured, weekends can be a little quiet so having a few kids around made those there feel part of the gang.
We received the following thank you:
On behalf of the families we serve, we would like to THANK YOU for volunteering at Family House! Thank you so much for hosting games and crafts. You have directly provided our families with a safe, enjoyable, and organized living environment. All of the families who stay with us come from at least 50 miles from San Francisco. Many of them feel alone while going through one of the toughest times of their lives. Family House is a place where families can stay together and support one another while their sick child goes through treatment.
It is because of you that we are able to provide the families a safe, clean and welcoming environment during their stay. Thank you all so much for now being a part of the Family House community! You are always welcome at Family House so please feel free to contact me in case you have any questions or would like to further your involvement at Family House.
