A Note from the Principal
-When we return from Spring Break next week, we have several teachers scheduled to receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. As many individuals feel ill upon their second vaccination, we are looking for Virtus trained volunteers that would make themselves available to be "on call" to sub beginning Monday. We have one teacher who will be returning later in the week from a hip replacement and another teacher that was called for jury duty. We have absolutely no intention of closing, but a lack of subs could result in canceled specialties. Any help would be appreciated. Please reach out to Mr. Luetkemeyer if you are interested in volunteering.
-We have noticed a significant increase in student requests for masks. Please remember to pack two masks for your children at all times.
-As we get later in the year, it is easy to get lax in certain protocols. Pleaser remember in drop off and pick up procedures to NEVER get in or out of the car in the street. Parents need to pull into the parking lot and be parked. Additionally, during drop off and pick by our flag pole, please pull all the way to the crosswalk. It can make the difference between 1-2 cars entering the pick up lane and that can often block the rest of traffic on Quincy.
-Lunch orders for April are open and all orders are due by March 29th!
-As you begin to think about filing your taxes, please remember that you need to have them complete to do Financial Aid. All Financial Aid is due no later than April 15th!
-We hope you are having a great Spring Break!

Vacation Bible School
Our VBS theme this year is “Around the World with Our Lady.” Each day, we will visit the various countries of Our Lady, Mother Mary, apparitions. Participants will also learn about the Rosary. There will be food, music, games and crafts all centered around Mother Mary. The week will be full of fun, fellowship and faith formation as we help children grow in their faith through love and devotion to Mother Mary.
- Ages 3 to entering Kindergarten
- 9 a.m. to noon each day (lunch not provided)
Totus Tuus
Similar to VBS, Totus Tuus provides religious education in a fun and engaging environment. The program's name is Latin for "Totally Yours" and was St. John Paul II's motto, taken from St. Louis de Montfort's "True Devotion to Mary." The program has a Marian focus, with a different theme every year that ties back into Marian devotions.
- Grades 1-5 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, lunch not provided)
Children will learn how to pray, about the importance of prayer, explore the sacraments and discover how to participate more fully in Mass. - Grades 6-8 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, lunch not provided)
Designed for middle schoolers, students will strengthen their faith by focusing on prayer and meditation, small-group discussions, adoration, Mass and reconciliation. - High School Students (7 to 9 p.m.)
Designed for high schoolers, students will strengthen their faith by focusing on prayer and meditation, small-group discussions, adoration, Mass and reconciliation.
RISE Opportunity
RISE has been blessed with a $50,000 matching grant once again. Thanks to our generous community, we've fulfilled every requirement this year EXCEPT for the donor's request to launch a new campaign for recurring monthly gifts. This new component requires us to raise a grand total of $10,000 via monthly gifts made over a 12-month timeframe. There are no restrictions on the number of donors or individual gift amounts. Any amount will help us succeed!
If you are interested in setting up a recurring gift, please visit https://giving.parishsoft.com/App/Giving/christthekingcatholic/.
Thank you in advance for your consideration to help our extraordinary students benefit from an inclusive Catholic education.
If you know of any individual or company that would be interested in donating, please contact Tara Pickard or Principal Jay Luetkemeyer.
