Ben Franklin Elementary School
All of us at Ben Franklin send our thoughts and well wishes to our families directly affected by Covid-19. When the district announced Distance Learning would continue for the remainder of the year, our hearts were saddened. We understand some of you share those emotions with us. Many of us longed for closure with the students we grew to love over the course of the year. With the positive cases increasing in Grand Forks, we understand it was the correct and safest call to make. We greatly appreciate the strong efforts families are making to keep the students connected and learning. The challenges of this experience are plenty and know everyone is doing their best to make it as successful as they can. The silver lining through this experience has been watching how our partnership in education has deepened...so THANK YOU! Please continue to communicate with your child's teacher if you find your child(ren) may need some encouragement or a "pep talk" to complete assignments. We understand how motivation decreases when spring arrives and will be here to help!
*Information regarding device/material returns will be forthcoming once the plan for this is finalized.
May 4th-8th is Teacher Appreciation Week!
Here are some activities that we are doing this week to celebrate our teachers:
*Have your child send a message to their teacher (written or video)
*Tie a Blue/White ribbon around a tree or mailbox
*"Chalk" the blacktop or sidewalks around Ben Franklin with messages for our teachers on Wednesday (weather permitting and please practice social distancing if others are there while you are).
*PTO will be delivering pizzas to teachers on Thursday~ Thank you PTO!
We hope you can participate in one or all of the activities!
