Tomorrow, Friday, December 10th, First Trimester (printed) Progress Reports (report cards) will be going home with students. Progress Reports (report cards) will also be emailed home to one parent on Friday as a practice run. Second Trimester Progress Reports will only be emailed home. If you do not receive the First Trimester Progress Report emailed home on Friday, please let the office know 630-529-2223 or sjohnston@sd13.org so you can be set up to receive the Progress Report for Second Trimester.
Tonight, Thursday, December 9th, is the Holiday Gift Shop at Erickson from 6:00-8:00 where students can shop for gifts for family and friends. Please wear a mask and social distance. PTO is still looking for volunteers to help students shop on Friday. If you are able to help, please email sjohnston@sd13.org. A negative PCR covid test or vaccination card is required to volunteer during school hours.
If you attend the Holiday Gift Shop tonight, all LOST and FOUND items will be in the lobby to review. Maybe you can find a lost mitten or hat!
Congratulations to these students for WINNING the Holiday Greeting Card Contest in Art! Way to go: Aarish, 1st Grade, Francesca, 2nd Grade, Klaudia, 3rd Grade, and these 5th Grade students: Karolina, Luca, Jake, Colin, Jose, Kacper, Raha, Juliana and Reese.
Kindness Club buttons were passed out today! Guess how many students earned their Kindness Club button? 193 students! Thank you Lily, the 3rd Grade Kindness Club President, for starting the club, encouraging acts of kindness & making the buttons. Way to go!

Winter Break December 20-January 2: Erickson Elementary School will be closed for winter break from December 20, 2021– January 2, 2022. Students will return to school on Monday, January 3, 2022. We wish all families a joyous and happy holiday season.

Hot Lunch: The Hot Lunch order form is now open! All orders must be submitted by December 17th... No Exceptions! A flyer was also sent home with students today.

Spirit Wear Holiday Sale: Erickson Spirit wear is now available for purchase. The sale will close on December 9th to make sure all items are delivered to the school before the Holidays: Spirit Wear Order Form
Holiday Parties: PTO parents who are volunteering in classrooms during the holiday party please make sure to share party plans with the classroom teachers.
Holiday Gift Shop: The PTO will be hosting the Holiday Gift Shop for students on Thursday 12/9 from 6-8pm with families at Erickson and Friday 12/10 during school hours. The Holiday Gift Shop is an opportunity for students to shop for holiday gifts for family and friends. Shopping envelopes were sent home last week.
Winter Weather: Please Dress for the Weather
Winter Weather: Erickson students have outdoor line-up and spend recess outside when the temperature, including WIND CHILL, is 10 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Students may play in the snow during recess if they are properly dressed in winter gear, which includes a winter jacket, snow pants, hat, gloves, and snow boots.
If a student is healthy enough to attend school they are also healthy enough to go outside for recess. A doctor’s note is needed in order for a student to stay in at recess.
