Morning Drop Off

As a reminder, car riders may not be dropped off before 7:30 am. You may see students waiting outside that are here for athletics or rode their bikes. This is especially important as we head into the winter months and morning temperatures continue to drop. Thank you for your help in keeping students safe and warm!

Shade Trees on Playgrounds Grant

Earlier this year, Mrs. Fingerhut was the recipient of a STOP (Shade Trees on Playground) grant through the Arkansas Department of Agriculture Forestry Division. Her efforts to secure this grant will allow our school to receive five shade trees for our playground! In addition to receiving the five trees, our students learned about the importance of trees and how trees help prevent skin cancer. To celebrate the arrival of our trees and all that we have learned, we will be having a Tree Planting Ceremony on December 8th. The ceremony will include student presentations, a message from our keynote speaker, Kristine Kimbro - urban and community forestry coordinator, and planting the trees on the playground.

Our 5 shade trees include:
"Oakley" - Willow Oak Tree dedicated to our 5th Grade Class
"Willow" - Willow Oak Tree dedicated to our 6th Grade Class
"Ruby" - Ruby Slipper Maple Tree named by Mrs. Fingerhut
"Bernard" - Rugged Charm Maple Tree named by Mr. Jackson
"Ele" - Merlot Redbud Tree named by Mrs. Hester

We are so excited to make our playground more beautiful and for all the learning opportunities we have had the last couple of weeks.
