5Essentials Survey required from the Illinois State Board of Education
Parents, this is your opportunity to evaluate Sunny Hill Elementary School according to five “essential” areas critical for school success. A full page letter with details was sent home on 2/15/21 regarding both the parent survey and the student survey. The online survey is open through April 2nd and is accessed by clicking here.
PLEASE NOTE: Because Barrington 220 is based in Lake County, choose "Lake" from the county drop down menu, then select our school. The survey data becomes part of each school’s Illinois School Report Card. Thank you for your participation in this important survey. We appreciate and value your feedback!

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) ~ Mr. De La Mora, Assistant Principal
As we continue to go through the hoops and loops of hybrid and remote learning, the social-emotional well-being of our students is one of our main priorities at Sunny Hill. As an extra tool to help students who might be struggling to cope with the difficulties that COVID-19 has provoked in our learning system, Barrington 220 has partnered with META. META is an online wellness platform for school counselors and students to connect for private and secure counseling. Sunny Hill students can connect using the META mobile app available on Apple or Android devices. After downloading the app, students can create an account and connect to school counselors via video, voice, and chat. All information is only accessible to the student and counselor. If you need more information about this helpful resource, please visit https://www.meta.app/B220/.
Sunny Hill students have been demonstrating kindness throughout February. They have made the effort to treat everyone, including themselves, respectfully and kindly. We are all very proud of them and as a reward, a grade-level basket raffle will be held on March 5th. We will let everyone know the details as the date comes closer. Thank you for all of your help at home. I am here to help you, and to give our students the opportunities to be the best version of themselves that they can be. Please do not hesitate to contact me at (847) 426-4232 or via email at edelamora@barrington220.org.
