6-Hour Dignity Act Course

Harassment/Bullying/Cyberbullying/Discrimination in Schools

6- Hour DASA Course

NYSUT's Education & Learning Trust (ELT) Dignity Act blended/hybrid program offers participants the option of taking the program for three hours online and three hours face-to-face.

The Dignity Act maintains that it is the policy of the State of New York to afford all students in public schools an environment free of discrimination and harassment (Education Law 10). This blended/hybrid version is an interactive program that encourages deep thought as well as professional and personal reflection. The program examines harassment, discrimination and bullying as it relates to, but is not limited to, those acts based on a person's actual or perceived race, color, weight, national origin, gender or sex. Participants will engage in authentic conversations and reflections about harassment, discrimination and bullying as well as explore the impact of social constructs in their personal and professional lives. This training fulfills the state requirements for six clock hours of course work or training in the Dignity Act in accordance with Article 2 Sections 10-18 of the Education Law.
