What happened

  • Took place in Yorktown, Vigrinia
  • George Washington surrounded Charles Lord Cornwallis's Army (British).
  • Cornwallis surrendered.
  • That ended the war and ensured independence for American and French forces.



  • General Cornwallis said he was sick and didn't show up to surrender.
  • 8,800 Americans, 7,800 French, & 6,000 British.
  • The French wore biue coats and the British wore red
  • The Americans and French won (obviously)
