Picture Day Information
1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade book fees are now past due!
To obtain your child’s invoice:
(You will NOT be receiving an invoice this year)
· Go to http://www.hse.k12.in.us/BSE/home.aspx
· Click on Skyward Family Access
· Enter your User ID and Password
· Click on “Fee Management” under General Information
· Then click on the “Fee Activity” tab
Your child’s invoice amount will be listed under the “Fee Activity” tab
· You can immediately click “eFunds On-line Payments” under
District Links to pay your child’s book fees
Ways to pay for your child’s book rental this year:
· Personal checks or Money Orders (NO CASH ACCEPTED)
Personal checks (SEPARATE CHECKS FOR EACH CHILD) should be made payable to B.S.E.S. and can be sent with your child to school. Be sure to send your check in a sealed envelope labeled “BOOK RENTAL” with your child’s name, grade, teacher and the book rental amount for each child.
· On-line payments with Mastercard or Visa
Please go to http://www.hse.k12.in.us/BSE/home.aspx “Quick Links” at the bottom of the page on the right side. Click “eFund on-line payment system”, follow the prompts. I will post your payment in the Skyward system within 10 business days. You can print the “paid in full” invoice out for your records, if you would like a hard copy.
Note: We cannot accept Mastercard or Visa this year at BSES. If you choose to pay by credit card you MUST utilize eFunds)

On-line School Directory for ALL HSE Schools
The on-line school directory is now available to all families in Skyward. This year the directory is based on an opt-in model. Families must choose to show their contact information in order to be visible in the directory.
To opt-in, click on "My Account" in the upper right corner of your Family Access account. From there, check the boxes for the information you wish to make visible under the School Directory section and then Save. Families can make changes to this section anytime throughout the school year.
If you choose to opt-out of the school directory, please email Dr. Kaminski at dkaminski@hse.k12.in.us

BSE Back to School Bash & Silent Auction - Friday, September 25th 5:30-8:30pm!
Be on the lookout for the registration form coming home with your child next week! Go to https://www.handbid.com/auctions/back-to-school-bash-silent-auction/ to pre-register for the silent auction and download the HANDBID app on your mobile device. More information about using the app and the online auction site coming soon! Check back often since items are being added daily! The silent auction starts 9/21 and ends at 9/25 at 8PM.

Calling all Room Parents!
Brooks School Elementary is looking for ROOM PARENTS for the 2015-2016 school year!!! Room parents will help coordinate class baskets at the Back-to-School Bash, help organize the class winter party, work with the PTO Chairs during Teacher Appreciation Week and be a liaison between the parents and the teacher throughout the school year. Being a room parent is a great way to become involved at BSE .
If you are interested in being a room parent please contact Kimberlee Murray at BSE.RoomParent@gmail.com and include the following information:
· Your name
· Your student’s name, teacher and grade
· Whether you would like to be Head Room Parent or a Co-Room Parent
· Your telephone number.
BSE Reading Mentor Program Volunteers Needed!
Implemented more than ten years ago, the BSE Reading Mentor Program has placed volunteers in every classroom from K-3 to work once a week with students who need additional help improving literacy skills. We are in need of more volunteers this school year! Please email christine715@aol.com to add your name to our volunteer list. There will be a training session on Thursday, September 24 from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. in the BSE library for all volunteers—including those who have been a mentor previously. Volunteers will be placed with students beginning the week of September 28, 2015.
Hamilton Southeastern Schools requires that all volunteers have a current background check on file, and also complete the Anti-Bullying webinar. To do this, please go to the HSE website at hse.k12.in.us. Click on “Parent Resources” on the main page, then proceed to the “PTO and Volunteering” tab, where you will find the links to fill out the forms online and see the video.

Glow in the Park Lights the NPD with Neon Lights
Glow in the Park is not an ordinary event in the Nickel Plate District! Back by popular demand, Glow in the Park promises a night of neon bright lights, lasers, unforgettable memories and a whole lot of fun. Slated for Saturday, September 12, our neon party is complete with a DJ spinning some favorite techno tunes, face painting, a graffiti wall, and, the ever popular Neon Splash Zone! Arrive early; the first 1,000 people at the event receive a free glow stick to kick off the party. Glow in the Park takes place from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. and free to attend. Wear white and help us light up the night!
Parents, we encourage you to pack towels for the ride home and don’t be scared to get in on the fun, too. Registration is not required, but parent supervision is during the event. Don’t miss this unforgettable nigh t in the Nickel Plate District!
Watch Me Sculpt at BSE!
Do you love to have fun and get creative?! If so, Watch Me Sculpt is for you! WMS is a fun and exciting after school sculpting program offered immediately following the school day for one hour at the school. Each week, students are led by our inspiring artistic instructor to create a masterpiece sure to impress friends and family. Projects are prepared by professional artists specifically for elementary students with simple, step by step instructions using the same clay animation studios use in Hollywood. Ready to experience more fun that you thought humanly possible in a school building?! Register for Watch Me Sculpt Today!! Flyers available in the office. Fishers Fire Department Safety Day!
Fishers Fire Department is again partnering with St. Vincent Fishers Hospital for its Annual Safety Day September 12, from 10am – 2pm in the parking lot of St. Vincent Hospital. This is an “all things safety” event designed to provide important information for kids, young adults, adults and seniors. In addition, we are spot lighting sports injuries to help prevent ligament, bones and cranial injuries.
If you could please help us out and get the information to your students, PTO’s and families. The community is rallying together to provide an outstanding opportunity to not only spend some time together as a family, but to better learn how to keep safe. We want to do everything possible to protect our community. Thank you so much for your help!!

S.P.O.R.T.S. Basketball Registration Deadline extended to September 15 – Open registration for boys and girls basketball continues through September 15. Beginning September 16 a $10 late fee will be incurred on all registrations. Registration forms are available at the S.P.O.R.T.S. office, on the S.P.O.R.T.S. website, at all HSE schools, and the Fishers Library. Parents may also register online and can pay with a credit card or can print the form and submit it to the S.P.O.R.T.S. office with a check or cash payment. Credit cards are not accepted in the office.
