A Message from Mrs. Booth
Dear Silver Springs Families,
As we wrap up the first week of the next Phase of our Distance Learning Plan, I hope that everyone is beginning to settle into a learning routine at home. At my house, the next phase for my own children starts tomorrow. We spent some time this weekend making sure that they had logged into all of their google classrooms, reviewed the suggested schedule from the school, and determined if the schedule we had been following to this point would continue to work with the new learning that will be expected.
Please know that I am right there with you and that we appreciate all of the work you are doing at home to help your children access the material and attend classroom virtual meetings with teachers each week. Hopefully you have been able to create a schedule that works for your family that includes time for academics, enrichment, and physical exercise.
Third Marking Period Report cards will be released on Tuesday, April 21st. Classroom teachers will be reaching out to you to offer an opportunity to conference with them should you desire, after you have reviewed the report card.
The District continues to be committed to providing up to date information to all of our families as it becomes available. You can access information, updates, and FAQs via the Northville Public Schools website or at this link: NPS School Closing and COVID-19 FAQs
Technology devices are available for loan to students who do not have access. Please complete this Technology Device Checkout Form to request the use of a device. You can reach our Technology Department Help Desk at 248-344-3680 Monday - Friday from 8am-4pm.
Stay safe and be well!

COVID-19 Grading Procedures and Parent Supports
NPS Families,
As we continue to move forward with new learning under the Continuity of Learning Plan, the following information will bring clarity around the question of grading during this time as well as the available technology and parent supports we have and will continue to put in place.
The NPS COVID-19 Grading Procedures, as published on April 15, 2020, are based on guidance provided in the Executive Order. We believe these grading practices provide students with the most flexibility while still ensuring that no child will be academically harmed as a result of the traditional model school closing required by law. Please contact your teacher or building principal if you have any questions about this grading procedure or need further information.
With the help of many NPS teachers, we have developed a parent learning portal that provides you with a variety of useful resources designed to support and assist you during this remote learning period. If you have any questions, or would like to submit a request for resource support, please navigate to the submit a question under the FAQ button found on the parent learning portal. We hope you find this helpful as you partner with us in this new learning process.

Daddy Daughter Dance Update from the PTA
We know many are disappointed about the Golden Gala being missed this year. Our DDD is such an enjoyable and memorable event for our Silver Springs girls. We hope you were able to take some time to dance, take fun photos, or do a fun activity with someone special this weekend.
No checks have been deposited for those that had turned in DDD slips before school was closed. When the office reopens for the public, your checks can be returned or simply shredded. We will keep you updated if there are any new developments to the dance.
We hope you are all well and staying healthy which is the most important thing.

Medical Mask and Supportive Art Update
Thank you for your ongoing support for our Health Care Providers during this pandemic. We have been so grateful for your support.
Our Health Care Providers have asked us to consolidate drop off locations and days. They have requested two main drop offs in the Northville District located at the east and west sides of the District. The drop off locations will be:
- Winchester Elementary School at 16141 Winchester Drive, Northville, and
- Moraine Elementary School at 46811 W. 8 Mile Rd, Northville.
Donations will be picked up on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at these locations.
Additionally, supportive art is needed from our students. We had a request from Providence hospital that it sure would be nice to see some positive, uplifting springtime artwork from children hanging on their walls during such a difficult time. If your child would like to create happy, springtime art to cheer up health care providers and patients alike please also place those in the Medical Mask bin at Amerman, Winchester or Moraine. They will be picked up and taken to Providence Park. Once Providence Park is covered with happiness, additional drawings and art will be shared with nursing homes, and other Health Care Providers as well.
