May News #wercharles
A Note from Mrs. Phillips
Dear Charles Families:
It seems unreal that we are almost finished with this school year. As we wrap up state testing we prepare our fourth graders for intermediate school, we also welcome our new preschool and kindergarten friends. It's an exciting time with end of the year celebrations and field day. I am very proud of our accomplishments this school year. Just think, we made it through a pandemic and continued to stay in school with little to no interruptions from quarantining. As we look at end of the year data, I will share as a school how we did with growth and achievement after our NWEA testing is complete. All students will complete the NWEA testing between May 3-May 26th.
We are still in school for the month of May. Please remind your child to wear their mask and to do their personal best. As the weather is warming up, I have noticed many students struggling with adult directions. This is a natural part of transitioning through the end of school. Please help us by talking with your child about following our Charles School Pledge and daily expectations.
April 30th was our last day with Mrs. Day. She returned after battling breast cancer but now has a new battle ahead of her. Mrs. Spurlock will be stepping in again to finish the year. We encourage you to write letters or send messages via Facebook to Mrs. Day, wishing her well as she continues her battle with cancer. We wish her and her family the best and will continue to support her on this journey. We all send you love Mrs. Day!
