Shay Rebellion

is the name given to a series of protests in 1786 and 1787 by american farmers against state and local enforcement of tax collections and judgements for debt. The rebellion took its name from its symbolic leader, Daniel Shays of Massachusetts,a former captain in the Continental army.

The whiskey rebellion,also known as the Whiskey Insurrection, was a tax protest in the united states beginning in 1791, during the presidency of George Washington. ''Whiskey tax'' was the first tax imposed on a domestic product by the newly formed federal government.
