Sit with it.

Sit with it.

Sit with it.

Sit with it.

Even though you want to run.

Even though it's heavy and difficult.

Even though you're not quite sure of the way through.

Healing happens by feeling.

MCA TESTING

VLS Testing

Dear Virtual Learning Student families,

MCA testing for VLS students who have not opted out will be on three Fridays from 8:30-11:30 a.m.:

May 7 - Reading

May 14 - Math

May 21 – Science (Grade 8 only)

Students will be tested in spaces that allow for social distancing. If you are uncomfortable with your student testing in person, you will need to follow the district OPT OUT requirements:

If you would like your student to be opted-out of the MCA exams this year, you can fill out of the opt-out form and send it to elisabeth.fontana@spps.org.

Here are links to opt-out forms drafted by the Minnesota Department of Education and translated into multiple languages: Here are links to opt-out forms drafted by the Minnesota Department of Education and translated into multiple languages: English, Arabic, Chinese, Hmong, Karen, Khmer, Laotian, Oromo, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Vietnamese

We are asking all VLS families to complete this survey by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, April 26th so we can plan accordingly:

IN Person Testing

MCA testing is starting this week for reading during ELA classes (April 26-April 29) for all grades. Please encourage your students to get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast so that they are able to focus.

Math MCA testing will be May 3-6,

and 8th grade science MCA testing will be May 10-13.

MCA tests will be given using students’ iPads, so please help them remember to have their iPads charged every night so that they are ready for testing the following day.
