Jamie Corsillo 20
DAY 1: MAR a LAGO
You are going to start your vacation at the beautiful house of Donald Trump! It is in Palm Beach. Mar a Lago was built in the time period of 1924-1927. In that time period the Population Boom was happening, and since the house has rental rooms it was a very good idea to build the house during that time. This mansion was designed by Joseph Urban. The house has 58 bedrooms, 33 bathrooms, and 12 fireplaces. It has 5 red clay tennis courts and a pool waterfront.
Mar a Lago has a great dining room so you will also eat dinner there.
DAY 2: A DAY IN THE EVERGLADES
Today you will go on a boat ride in Everglades National Park. There is only one everglades in the world and it is in Florida. Everglades has animals, grasslands, wetlands, and lot of wildlife. It is a National Park so nobody can kill any animals there, or do anything to the environment.
For dinner you will go to The Columbia Restaurant. It is the oldest restaurant in Florida. Founded in 1905 by Cuban immigrant Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. He came during immigration in the time of 1900s to 1920s to Florida. They serve cuban food and they are known for their Cuban coffee and authentic Cuban sandwiches.
Day 3: The Museum Of Florida History
Opened in 1977, the Museum of Florida History collects, exhibits, and has evidence of past and present cultures in Florida, and gives knowledge and appreciation of this heritage.
As the state history museum, it focuses on artifacts such as, clothing, furniture, campaign ephemera, portraits, editorial cartoons, currency, coins, records, artifacts relating to commerce, agriculture, industry, flags, uniforms, and equipment that testify to Florida's participation in national and international events all from Florida's history!
DAY: 4 St. Augustine
St. Augustine is a city in Northeast Florida and the oldest European settlement and port in the continental United States. St. Augustine was founded in September 1565 by Spanish admiral Pedro Menendez de Aviles. It served as the capital of Spanish Florida for two hundred years.
A monument made of stone and mortar, the Castillo de San Marcos represents the fighting between cultures which ultimately resulted in our nation. Still with the struggles of an earlier time, these original walls provide evidence of America’s amazing history.
