Game On

Happy Weekend!

Hope you are all enjoying a beautiful Sunday!

This week we were excited to be able to livestream Good Morning Truman to classrooms. We had official announcers on the stage who led the Pledge of Allegiance and shared student birthdays. Mrs. Welborn talked about the "ICEE" award, and we sang the song that gave us the idea for this kindness recognition! Lastly, I was able to share how proud I have been of students for following our Trailblazer procedures. They have truly shined with behavior and with learning!

This year the theme, as you know, is "Game On," so I shared my own favorite games during our live-streamed assembly:

Board Game-Clue

Sports Game-Football

Game Show-Name That Tune (Yes, that dates me for sure!)

Video Game-Pac-Man (80's teen!)

This year at GMT, I will share favorites from multiple teachers, and hopefully students will have fun with my guessing game of GAMES!

Guest Teachers...Class Coverage Volunteer Opportunity

Big picture
Truman is in great need of guest teachers. Information is located at the link below if you are interested in this job opportunity.

If you are not interested in officially working, but would be willing to step in to volunteer in a classroom when a teacher is out, please email with information about availability or fill out this Form:

Due to a shortage in coverage, the district is allowing volunteers to help for this purpose only. There are no other volunteer opportunities approved at this time. Thank you for considering helping! All Classroom Coverage Volunteers must complete a background check prior to serving in schools.

Below is the link for our RallyUp fundraiser for Jog-a-thon! Please feel free to share with all family and friends! No registration needed, and all students should be uploaded. If you can't find your student, please let us know.

Instructions for Donating:

Just click on the link, then "make a pledge." Please choose the flat amount option (this will make it easier due to our COVID restrictions, etc.). The donor will search for the "student" using their First Name and Last initial. Then follow the steps for making the donation.

Other Jogathon Information:

Students will run during their regular scheduled PE classes on October 29th or 30th. Virtual students have the option to come to the school to run with a class, or they can run on October 28! PARENTS ARE NOT ABLE TO WATCH THIS YEAR DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS. PTA will provide a goldfish snack and a Gatorade/Water after students finish their run.

Jogathon is our main fundraising initiative, and we want to do everything possible to make this a success. Thank you for your help!

Fall Parties

Your classroom teacher will be sending out more information, but since we will not be able to have parents in the building, parties will look different this year. You will be able to send pre-packaged items to the classroom based on instructions from the teacher. The designated party time is 2:00, but classrooms may schedule the parties throughout the day as needed to fit with existing schedules. Students will be able to wear costumes, but regular masks are required. Jogathon will also happen during PE classes, so keep that in mind when deciding what to wear on this day.

Thank you for remembering to send your child to school with a mask each day. They are doing a great job wearing these and helping keep our school healthy!
