Missouri Day
Don't forget to plan at least a 30 minute class period to celebrate Missouri Day! Here are some resources you might possibly want to use:
I also learned a really cute song about the bordering states of MO (from my daughter's third grade class). If you want that, let me know and I'll get you a copy. I might even sing it for you..... :)

Literacy Links
Word work/spelling is a hot topic right now in the building, so I thought I'd share an inquiry based approach to it. This site has an interesting post called Sticky Spelling, with an interesting take on spelling instruction, and it's something I always tried to do with my students: look at spelling in a personal, individualized way. What do your students need? Chances are, they all need something different. Food for thought, or maybe you're ready to jump in? I love this organizer (below) they have included (sorry, I couldn't find a way to print it!).
Classroom Management Tips
This is a pretty neat page of management ideas. It includes reward systems, contracts, group systems and more. Each idea has it's own "button" (like the one below) which then takes you to a page that outlines exactly how that systems is used, with videos! It also includes the idea at both elementary and secondary levels, so pass it along!
Technology Tie-In
Many people use SeeSaw for an online portfolio/parent communication, but there are other options out there. Here's an article about another choice, called FreshGrade. Options are always good, right?
