EARTH DAY
REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE
Celebrate Earth Day this year on Wednesday, April 22, 2015
ABOUT EARTH DAY
The first earth day was celebrated in 1970. Gaylord Nelson designated April 22 as a "national day for the environment." For the first earth day celebration, there was more than 20 million Americans participating. There were also people celebrating all over the world. Many companies today are doing their part by encouraging employees to use less paper and take public transportation to and from work.
REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE
There are many ways to reduce, reuse and recycle on earth day and throughout the year.
- recycling
- turning lights off when leaving a room
- turning the water off while you brush your teeth
- using public transportation or walking instead of driving your own cars
