Ms. Lee's Classroom News

October 8, 2015

Take Note...

*A note went home last Wednesday concerning a service project North School is participating in. We will be raising money for the Honor Flight Program. Bring a dollar on the Fridays during October in exchange for wearing your favorite hat..."Hats for Heroes".

(If we do not have school on a Friday, wear your hat on Thursday!)

**Permission slips for our Fall Skate Party are going home today. The cost is $5.00.

***We had a blast at the Fun(d) Run today. I have included some pictures.

This section of the newsletter will highlight what we have learned this week!

READING: I CAN identify the author's purpose of a book: entertain, inform, or persuade.

WRITING: I CAN write a persuasion paper in hopes of convincing someone of a special interest of mine.

SPELLING: I CAN spell my core words this week: we, there, can, an, and your.

LANGUAGE: I CAN find and use past tense verbs in a sentence.

MATH: I CAN name the shapes and number of faces that a 3-D shape has.

SOCIAL STUDIES: I CAN name the following landforms and their features: mountains, hills, rivers, lakes, oceans, peninsulas, and islands.

*I have tentatively scheduled a test for next Friday over landforms. Everyone will have a landform booklet to study.
