GCPS Digital Learning Day for ALL students

GCPS Announcement on Weds, 1/13...

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) announced on Wednesday that it will temporarily transition all in-person learners to digital instruction beginning Tuesday, January 19. (Monday, January 18, is a school holiday.) District leaders will monitor the COVID situation and its effects on staffing to determine its ability to resume in-person instruction on Monday, January 25. Click HERE to read the official announcement.

Students will be expected to complete their lessons digitally each day and attendance will be documented. Teachers will report to their schools to deliver their digital lessons. As was done last spring, teachers who have school-aged children will be allowed to bring them to school.

GCPS will offer meal service during this transition to digital learning (Jan. 19-22). Meals will be available for curbside pick-up at schools, and, the district will deliver meals along all bus routes countywide during this time.

Updates regarding the return to in-person learning on Monday, January 25, will be shared on the district website and through SchoolMessenger messages.

AKS at Home

The AKS at Home webpage has been updated with the dates and times of the Zoom sessions. All Zoom sessions will have a Spanish Interpreter. To enhance a secure online environment for our families, each session will require registration using the Zoom meeting link. Last semester we had more than 4,000 users logged into the live Zoom sessions.

As part of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ family engagement initiative, our AKS at Home project provides Math and Literacy support, for grades K-5, to families so that they truly are partners in their children’s learning. Scheduled Zoom Meetings are available for you to attend so you may quickly learn how you can help your child in Math and Literacy. All meetings are recorded and tools are posted in case you can't make the live session. This support is available for families to access in the format that fits them and their schedule best.

We invite our families to take advantage of AKS at Home to gain access to scheduled virtual meetings or recorded sessions to best fit your schedule, and to the parent tip sheets (in English y en Español).
