Special Thanks
A special thank you to the Noorigian family for the donation of all the stones for
our Lenten theme. As you know, each student received a stone. They were to
write the name of a special person they wanted to pray for during the season of
Lent. The stone is a symbol of Lent. Remember after Jesus died on the cross,
He was laid in a tomb and a large stone was used to seal His tomb. After three
days, Mary Magdalene came to pray by Jesus’s tomb, and was shocked to find
that the stone was moved and Jesus’s tomb was empty. This was indeed a
miracle because the stone was too heavy for any person to move. Of course, it
was not too heavy for Jesus. The prayer stones were placed in a special place
in the classroom. Every time, they saw it a prayer for the person whose name is
written on the stone was said. They asked Jesus to inspire that person to be
strong and to turn to Him for help. Always remember that Jesus’s love can make
all of us stronger. He helps us to lift the heavy stones of sadness from our hearts
so we too can rise above our sorrows and share in God’s unending happiness.
