March 16, 2018 #Work Hard, Poupard!
Message from Mr. Ali
Dear Poupard Families,
Before break, I met with all of our Poupard Dragons to share my expectations for them and what I'd like for our building to represent. Our staff is working tirelessly in emphasizing, modeling and placing a high level of importance on the things we discussed which are listed below:
ALL Poupard students are expected to be Safe.
ALL Poupard students are expected to be Respectful.
ALL Poupard students are expected to be Learners.
ALL Poupard students are expected to be Leaders.
This week, I encourage you to ask your learner:
What does being safe at school look like?
How do they feel when others treat them with respect at school?
What inspires them to learn at school?
How do they desire to lead at school?
Pick-up and Drop-off Reminders
Morning arrival and after school pickup is a chaotic time of the day; similar to when you attend a sporting event, the traffic is simply just unavoidable. The staff and Poupard families shared goal and responsibility is to keep kids safe throughout the entire arrival and dismissal process.
Here are some general reminders for all families:
- Pull your vehicle close to the curb to prevent occupying more than one lane.
- Stay in parked cars as you pickup your child around the circle.
- Place your child's carseat on the rear passenger side.
- Avoid parking in front of cones.
- Wherever possible, park on the same side of the street of the school.
- Cross at the end of the street where STOP signs are located with your child to avoid moving traffic.
- Be patient.
- Our neighbors enjoy peace and quiet. Use car horn only when safety is a concern.
- Park only in designated parking areas in the parking lot.
Lastly, our School Improvement Team is working on a few additional ways to ensure arrival and dismissal runs as smooth as possible with that shared goal in mind. We will share additional anticipated changes in the coming weeks. Thank you for your support and partnership in keeping our learners safe!
