BRAVE Update

Bear Creek Intermediate School

Be BRAVE Today!

Be BRAVE today! We continue our work in establishing campus-wide common language and expectations! We are sharing/reviewing our BRAVE Code daily on announcements, visuals are beginning to appear in hallways and teachers have them posted prominently in their classrooms. We would love your help in reinforcing these at home! They are as follows:

  • Be responsible
  • Reach your goals
  • Act respectfully
  • Value one another
  • Engage in learning

A great way to start a conversation is to ask your student how they were BRAVE that day or even go a little bit deeper in asking about a specific expectation (ie how were you responsible today, how were your working towards reaching a goal, etc.).

We have an amazing staff here at BCI! We would love you to nominate a staff member (teachers, aides, etc.) for a Golden Brave!!

Safety First

We have received numerous phone calls over last few days regarding students being unsafe as they are crossing Rufe Snow to the Keller Pointe. If you have a student going to the Keller Pointe after school, please remind them they need to be waiting for crossing guidance and not stepping out into the street before being prompted to do so by the stop light crossing system.

New BCI Website

This is not a test! This is the real deal!

We have said it was coming a number of times over the past semester, but Keller ISD has released a "go live" date for new campus websites and teacher landing pages. On February 12th, the BCI website will have a new look. As with any new technology, we are expecting some glitches but want to work diligently to ensure that it is providing all the information that you need. Links will still work, but on your first visit to the new site, you will be prompted to set up a new bookmark.

New teacher landing pages will be a work in progress. Basic schedule and contact information are included and more information will come as we have the ability to work with those. Regular pod/teacher newsletters will continue via e-mail and Remind.

Bear Creek families. Please help us in our efforts to improve our communications by completing this brief survey. Last round we had only 16 respondents, so we would like to increase that number greatly for this second sampling. Thank you in advance for your help!
