CB West Spotlight

April District Boomerang Winner
Lydia Hu is a reading machine! She comes to the library every day for a new book (or two) to check out. She finds the time to do her schoolwork, at which she excels (4.0 GPA the last time I checked), and read dozens of independent books throughout the year. She single-handedly runs the CB West Reading Olympics team, recruiting members, organizing meetings, and representing readers at the annual competition.
Lydia is a WONDERFUL and a voracious reader. She and another student formed a Reading Olympics team this year and asked me to be the advisor. The CB West Library Dragons just competed last week (with Lydia at the helm as team captain) and achieved a blue ribbon.
I've had the privilege of having Lydia in my chemistry classes for almost 2 years now, and not a day has gone by that I haven't seen her with a book. Lydia is incredibly talented and hardworking, and whenever she completes an assignment or assessment she reaches for her book. Her love of reading shows a true thirst for knowledge.
Lydia Hu is the most avid reader I have seen in our school. During advisory, in the lobby during a free period or on the front stairs of the school, waiting for a ride, Lydia always has a book in her hand. She is highly intelligent and always looking to learn more about the world around her.
I wanted to nominate Lydia Hu. She reads a book a day while maintaining high grades in AP classes. She also put together the reading Olympics for West and they came in first place.
