A Message From Our Instructional Coach, Ms. Nicoletta, and Our Special Education Coordinator, Ms. Dana
This excitement can lead to exhaustion and anxiousness. While we travel, see family, meet new people, attend holiday gatherings and events; keep in mind while all of these are fun and exciting, we should also be proactive in preparing for the after effects of these times.
Some things to be mindful of:
- Changes in schedules
- Transportation (flights, trains, car rides)
- Lack of sleep
- Holiday lights
- Excess sugar intake
- Children trying to understand different holidays, cultures, religions
To help reduce some of this anxiety and exhaustion during this exciting time of year, you can attempt to stay as close to a normal routine as possible. Listen to your children's words and watch their body language. Provide ample downtime and a space for the downtime. Offer a time for your children to ask questions before traveling, visitng family, friends and new people. A few days before school is back in session, try to get back to your normal routine of bed time and rise time.
We hope you enjoy the holidays. Recognize and share your gratitude towards others.
Ms. Nicoletta and Ms. Dana
Our condolences to Mayor Taylor's Family
