Holiday Greetings
From Superintendent Cox
Dear Clarkstown School Community:
I hope this communication finds you and your family members doing well.
I hope that all members of the school community find time during the upcoming Holiday Break to relax, celebrate, and find peace. The health pandemic has caused everyone tremendous challenges. While it is easy to list and discuss the numerous barriers that have stood in our way, I find it to be more fulfilling to keep the focus on celebrating accomplishments while moving ahead with hope and optimism.
As a school community, we have stepped forward for each other by doing our very best to instruct and support our students. Day after day, week after week, month after month, we continue to reflect, assess and make decisions focused on the health and safety of our students and staff.
Looking ahead, we are excited about seeking opportunities to see each other in person as much as possible, while taking the new ways to communicate that we have mastered to greater lengths. I am sure we all are hopeful for the chance to soon experience some of the traditions and events that made our schools a place for the community to come together, whether celebrating academic or athletic achievements or enjoying artistic talents on display. We assure you all that we will work tirelessly toward that goal, while continuing to ensure the safety of our school community. Your patience during this process which will continue with inquiry among community stakeholders in the New Year is well appreciated.
In the meantime, I hope the Holiday Break allows us all to maintain and enhance our relationships with family and friends (even remotely) and to take the necessary time to relax and enjoy. When the calendar turns a page and 2021 arrives, I will embrace the opportunity to be your partner in education as we navigate the necessary steps to best educate and support the students we serve in the Clarkstown Central School District.
Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Martin D. Cox, Ed.D.
